Annual Gala

The Apricot Music and Art Annual Gala took place on November 3, 2018 in Beverly Hills, CA. Light of Anatolia Apricot Tree Annual Gala hosted over two hundred guests in celebrating the shared musical heritage of Armenian and Turkish cultures. The performances of Ms. Narine Balikjian and Dr. Ayşe Taşpınar Gatenyo brought together these two cultures and emphasized the universal role of music.

Valentine’s Day Recital

Apricot Music and Art hosted a Valentine’s Day Recital at Pierre’s Fine Pianos in Los Angeles, CA to share our passion for music. Dr. Ayşe Taşpınar Gatenyo, founder and CEO of Light of Anatolia Apricot Tree performed pieces from Edgar Manas- Danse Populaire Turque and Franz Liszt- Grand Paraphrase sur la Mecidiye Marche de G. Donizetti.

The Story of Lina Amato-Temple Beth Am

Our second film screening of The Story of Lina Amato was on September 9, 2019 at Temple Beth Am in Los Angeles. Together with our community partners Temple Beth Am, Consulate General of the Republic of Turkey in Los Angeles, Yunus Emre Cultural Institute and Turkish-Israeli Civil Society Forum we hosted the Los Angeles Jewish and Turkish communities. New York based cellist Ms. Ceren Türkmenler’s concert was followed by the film screening and Sephardic dinner.

Concert and Film Screening-Temple Emanuel

Apricot Music and Art and its community partners Yunus Emre Cultural Institute and the Consulate General of the Republic of Turkey in Los Angeles hosted a concert and film screening at Temple Emanuel in Beverly Hills. Los Angeles Jewish Orchestra Concertmaster Mark Kashper and pianist Dr. Ayşe Taşpınar Gatenyo gave performed  Schindler’s Theme, Ernest Bloch’s Nigun, Ahmet Adnan Saygun’s Suite Horon. Ayşe Taşpınar Gatenyo dedicated Chopin’s Nocturne to music pedagogue, pianist Vitaly Margulis.
