This album, arising from Dr. Ayse Taspinar Gatenyo’s research in the UCLA Doctorate Program, blends Ottoman and Western musical traditions, highlighting Ottoman Armenians’ contributions. It showcases music’s ability to bridge cultures and promote peace, featuring world premieres of works by Emile Robert Blanchet and Edgar Manas’s “Les Iles des Princes”. The collaboration with Movimento Classical and Apricot Music and Art emphasizes its worldwide influence.

The Aşkina Concert will feature composers and works from Sephardic-Jewish, Turkish, and Arabic communities. The concert will use music as a bridge to develop cross-cultural understanding and communication between the cultures of the Near East and beyond.
Our mission is to promote understanding and communication between people; and inspire younger generations to build a peaceful future.
